The final night’s racing for 2001 was well attended and will start up again in the new year.

Luke Dale took out the opening scratch race by breaking away with three laps to go. The bunch didn’t want to chase so he greeted the judges first with Grant Law and Adam Rourke leading the bunch home.

The B grade elimination was won by Matt Jones from Dennis Fitzgerald and Jackie Kejda. Whilst Adam Rourke took out the A Grade event from Peter Jones and Danny Hennessy.

In the B Grade Scratch race the bunch stayed together, just ticking off the laps until 2 to go when Matt Jones made an early run for the line, he quickly gained a couple of lengths clear but the bunch brought him back just in time for an amazing turn of speed from Dennis Fitzgerald to pip Jones on the line.

A Grade then had a 'mystery' Scratch race which worked out well for the judges who blew the whistle when they had had enough of watching the A graders lap the track. Peter Jones proved to be too strong, with Josh Wall and Kirk Brown following him in.
